Qualifications: John is an experienced accounting and systems professional who has spent twenty years in the Public Housing field. In 1988, John joined Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, (CMHA), in Cleveland Ohio as an audit manager. Prior to that, John spent 3 years with the State Auditor’s Office of Ohio and 4 years with the Big 5 CPA firm, Ernst and Young, where he was a Manager in the Computer Auditing division. John has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Information Systems. John was with CMHA for 7 years during which time he held multiple management positions in Audit, Finance and Management Information Systems. During his early tenure at CMHA, John managed the Finance Department for two years during which time the PHA obtained ‘clean’ audit opinions for the first time in over 10 years. John then spent several years managing the Agency-Wide implementation of the Creative Computer Systems, (CCS), software at CMHA. In 1996, John started his consulting career and went on to assist the Finance Department at the Chicago Housing Authority with their implementation of the next generation of Creative Computer System software. Since the fall of 1999, John has been an employee of Casterline Associates where his accounting, financial management, project leadership and computer systems skills are highly valued.
